headspace stands in solidarity with First Nations young people and communities

The lead-up to the referendum has been a difficult time for many young people, regardless of their view on Constitutional Recognition and the Voice to Parliament.

This is especially the case for First Nations young people.

While the referendum has been decided, many First Nations young people will continue to experience the impacts of this time on their social and emotional wellbeing.

The referendum outcome may be causing young people to feel sad, hurt, angry, disappointed or tired. These are all normal responses to a complex issue.

Some First Nations young people will also be feeling the ongoing effects of racism experienced during the campaign.

headspace continues to stand in solidarity with First Nations young people and their communities, and will always endeavour to provide First Nations young people with the support they need to navigate tough times.

We want First Nations young people to know there are small steps they can take every day to help them and their communities feel strong and well.

That includes connecting with their culture, community and Country, which we know are important sources of healing and strength.

First Nations young people and their communities can be sure that headspace will always listen to and be guided by their voices when it comes to decision-making about their social and emotional wellbeing.
