Tell us abit about yourself.

I graduated from Podiatry at Charles Sturt University in 2011 and completed New Graduate Year at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, before moving to Mount Isa to service the remote Aboriginal of Central North West Queensland. It was here that I discovered my passion for youth health seeing the linkages of physical health at this age and chronic disease and wanting to work with engaging this age group and bridging service gaps. In 2015 I moved to the Riverland to take on the role of Senior Clinical Podiatrist before taking on a service development and systems improvement role. In December of 2016 I won the role of Allied Health Team Leader managing a team of 42 various health professionals under 8 different programs. I see it as an achievement of a life goal stepping into the headspace Centre Manager role.

What do you do to keep a healthy headspace?

I am massive on using gardening as a Mindfulness tool and find it very rewarding to be able to grow something from seed and spend time each morning to pause and take time out for watering.

What are your interests and passions?

I am actually a bit of a rev head. I have a dirt bike and go kart that I like tinkering around with on weekends. I also love the theatre and like going to watch all the local musicals as they pop up. I am very passionate about ATSI health, particular in the ages of 12-25. This stems from my time working in North West Queensland in some of the remote communities up there. It was this experience that changed my career path from being a Podiatrist to wanting to work with headspace. So it’s a life goal I have ticked off by getting this role. I am also passionate about rural and remote health and trying to bridge the gaps of services that readily available in metro areas.

Write one random fact about yourself.

I have lived or worked in all states of Australia bar Tasmania.
